SCI FI Wire is reporting that production will start next Monday in Australia on a new 4-hour Farscape miniseries. Stars Ben Bowder and Claudia Black are reportedly reprising their roles. The miniseries will clear up questions left by the series' final cliffhanger episode. Series creators Rockne O'Bannon and David Kemper are penning the new miniseries, which as of yet has no declared network backing or TV distribution.
Farscape was canceled by the Sci Fi Network more than a year ago (see 'Farscape Canceled'), but the success of other cult TV series on DVD has led to the resurrection of previously canceled properties (see 'Family Guy to Return to TV?'). So far neither the Jim Henson Company nor the Sci Fi Network has confirmed the production of new Farscape episodes. Stay tuned for confirmation and further developments.
