Ryan Dancey, CEO of Organized Play and former Vice President of Tabletop Roleplaying Games at Wizards of the Coast, has launched FixGama.org, a new Website devoted to stimulating change in GAMA, the game manufacturers' trade association, and its related activities, the GAMA Trade Show, the ORIGINS Convention, the Academy of Adventure Gaming Art & Design and the ORIGINS Awards.

Dancey is focusing his attention on three main areas.  First, game companies representing the vast majority of the money in the industry are not full voting members of GAMA, including Steve Jackson Games, Palladium, Nintendo, Upper Deck, Decipher, Fantasy Flight, Malhavoc, Score, Sabertooth Games, Wizards of the Coast and Kenzer & Co.  Second, Dancey is concerned with the Origins Awards nominating and voting process, and the risk that competing game awards will supercede the Origins Awards.  And third, Dancey said, 'GAMA is not using its unique platform as a neutral, industry resource to develop critical information about the market, or to communicate the important messages of the hobby gaming industry to the public and the press.'
