Natsume Maya is reporting that a new JoJo's Bizarre Adventures anime series has been announced in the latest issue of Shonen Jump in Japan.  Hirohiki Araki, the creator of JoJo's Bizarre Adventures, is also responsible for the Steel Bull Run manga series, which is running in Jump.  In the introduction to the latest chapter of Steel Bull Run, the Jump editors indicated that a new JoJo series was in the works.

Only two of six JoJo's Bizarre Adventures DVDs from the first JoJo series have appeared so far in the U.S., but the series has found favor with a portion of the American anime audience, particularly those who also like superheroes. Characters in this series have 'Stands' -giant spectral warriors who emerge with awesome psychic powers -- making the characters somewhat akin to superheroes. In spite of excellent stories and animation, the series' popularity here in the States has been hurt by continual delays in production, though all six volumes from the first series should be out by the end of this year.  Araki's manga has also spawned some great fighting games from Capcom, which have also increased the popularity of the property.  The fact that another JoJo anime series is in production in Japan means that this property should be around for quite some time.
