TOKYOPOP is set to release the first volume of its Saint Tail anime series in both DVD and VHS formats on August 28.  Saint Tail is a charming anime series suitable for all ages.  Based on the manga of Megumi Tachikawa, Saint Tail is the story of an eighth grade Catholic schoolgirl who moonlights as a Robin Hood at the urging of her pious friend.  Though her exploits are all based on helping those in need, our heroine is pursued by the police and by one of her male classmates, who is the bumbling son of a police lieutenant.  Saint Tail derives much of its charm from good-natured slapstick, which is also the staple of the manga series, which TOKYOPOP publishes.

The first Saint Tail release includes the first three episodes of the anime series.  The DVD version ($29.99 msrp) includes a dual language soundtrack (Japanese and English) with optional English subtitles and an Image Gallery.  The VHS version ($19.99), as is typical these days, includes only a dubbed English soundtrack.
