Viz has announced the American release of the first two InuYasha movies this year.  This is good news for the fans of the InuYasha TV anime, since the movies, which received theatrical distribution in Japan, benefit from bigger budgets and feature more complete and more spectacular animation.

Viz plans on previewing the first InuYasha movie, InuYasha: Affections Touching Across Time at ComicCon International in San Diego in July and then releasing it theatrically in selected cities across the country.  First released in Japan in December of 2001, InuYasha: Affections Touching Across Time pits everybody's favorite half-dog/half-human demon squaring off against a new threat from China in a saga that includes heavy doses of action and lots of suspense.

Viz also announced plans to release the second InuYasha movie (InuYasha: Kagami no Naka no Mugenjo) on DVD by the end of the year.  Details on this second InuYasha movie as well as the particulars regarding the DVD release of InuYasha: Affections Touching Across Time, have not yet been released.  A fourth InuYasha movie was recently announced in Japan.
