ADV Manga marketing manager Robert Boyd told ICv2 that ADV is planning to release about 115 volumes of manga during 2004. When asked if he thought bookstores would be able to expand their rack space to accommodate the phalanx of new manga titles announced for 2004, Boyd said, 'May is our first month with ten titles.  ADV adding five titles to our total monthly numbers doesn't add greatly to the total number of all manga titles.  We really won't know if that's too many for a while.  We just won't know until we see returns.'

ADV, which has licensed over 1,000 volumes of manga and manhwa (see 'ADV Has Licensed Over 1,000 Volumes of Manga'), has had considerable success with both its Full Metal Panic and Azumanga Daioh manga series.  ADV plans to offer a wide variety of manga and manhwa titles in 2004 ranging from 'all ages' titles such as R2 to sexy 16+ books like the Najica Blitz Tactics manga, which contains almost as many panty shots as the popular NBT anime series.
