First Comics property Grimjack, created by John Ostrander and Tim Truman, has been freed from the bankruptcy of the successor to First Comics.  Mike Gold and Ken Levin, two of the original founders of First, led the fight to free the property from its entanglements.  Describing the effort as 'an odyssey of blind alleys and intense negotiations,' the two were recently successful in getting the rights transferred to The NightSky Grimjack Rights and Production Vehicle (Four Wheel Drive Model), LLC.  Truman and Ostrander hold 'substantial' equity positions in the new venture.

Grimjack was introduced in 1983 and eventually appeared in over 80 comic issues, an original graphic novel, and three spin-off series.

The original creative team is planning a new Grimjack comic series; repackaged versions of the original material are also planned.  An agreement with a publisher is expected soon.
