Bandai will release its first Gundam Seed DVD, Grim Reality V.1, August 10th.  This series has sold over 1 million units in Japan, where it was the most popular anime series last year.  As befits its major-launch status, the first volume will be released both as a single item (at $29.98), and as part of a Limited Edition with a collector's art box and the soundtrack CD (at $49.98).  The CD features the music of T.M. Revolution (Rurouni Kenshin) and Nami Tamaki.

The Gundam Seed property is getting a major launch in the States, where it's already out in manga form and selling well (see 'Del Rey Manga Line Launches Strong'), on TV weekly (see 'Toonami Gets Saturday Night Fever'), and featured in a toy line (see 'Bandai America Looks Beyond Japan').
