Herge Foundation OKs Tintin Movie

Spielberg Project Moves Foward

The Ain't It Cool Website has posted a story from a Swedish correspondent who read interviews given in Sweden by Fanny Rodwell, Herge's widow and head of the Herge Foundation.  When asked about the long-rumored Steven Spielberg Tintin project, Ms. Rodwell told Swedish reporters that she had approved the draft of a Tintin screenplay sent to her by Spielberg.

While it's way too soon to start counting on a Spielberg Tintin film, getting approval from the Herge Foundation, which is known to be very particular and very hard on its licensees,  puts the project over a major hurdle.  Red Rackham's Treasure is the Tintin title most often mentioned in connection with Spielberg's project, but no definitive word has been released.  Stay tuned for further details.
