At this year's San Diego Comic-Con International, Scott Rosenberg's Platinum Studios announced the signing of an exclusive deal with Marc Silvestri's Top Cow Productions, Inc., to acquire and develop existing characters and future projects for film and television.

With the addition of Top Cow's roster of characters, Platinum now claims to have 'the largest independently controlled catalog of comic book characters and development deals with every major Hollywood studio.'

Top Cow has Inferno at Warner Brothers, Wanted at Universal, Fathom at Fox and Rising Stars at MGM, while Platinum has Mal Chance at Miramax, Nathan Never at DreamWorks, Unique at Disney and Cowboys & Aliens at Sony.  And then, of course, there is the highly successful Men in Black movie series.

Also a significant part of the agreement is that Top Cow (or its publisher, Image Comics) will distribute the majority of Platinum's future comics and graphic novels.

Platinum also recently announced a similar exclusive agreement with UFO Magazines, Inc. (see 'Platinum Acquires UFO Rights').
