Chronicle Books will produce three products based on The Incredibles, the new Pixar film premiering in November (see 'ICv2 Retailer Calendar'). The Art of the Incredibles will be a 160-page, 11' x 9' hardcover with an 8-page gatefold and color illustrations throughout. It will feature concept and character sketches, storyboards, and lighting studies, as well as interviews with the key players at Pixar. MSRP will be $40.
Chronicle will also produce an Art of the Incredibles postcard book with 30 postcards featuring art from the film for $8.95, and The Art of the Incredibles Journal for $9.95.
All three Chronicle products will be released in November.
There will be no shortage of merchandise for The Incredibles, which has a good chance of continuing Pixar's string of animated hits. Dark Horse will produce a four-issue comic adaptation (see 'Dark Horse Has the Incredibles); Tokyopop is doing a Cine-Manga version (see 'Tokyopop, Disney Plan More Cine-Manga'); Upper Deck will release trading cards (see 'Upper Deck's Trading Card Releases'); and Hasbro is producing toys (see 'Hasbro Mixes Old and New for 2004').
