Toy Biz CEO Alan Fine

Published: 09/16/2004 12:00am

Marvel Enterprises has announced that Alan Fine, President and CEO of Marvel's Toy Biz division, will take the additional role of President and CEO of Marvel's Publishing division.  Gui Karyo previously held the title of President of Marvel Publishing and Chief Information Offcier; he recently left the company to 'pursue new business opportunities.'

The release made it a point to note that Joe Quesada remains EIC and Dan Buckley remains Publisher of Marvel.

Fine has been with Marvel since 1996, in the roles of COO of Marvel (from 1996-1998), and President and CEO of Toy Biz (since 1998, except for a brief gap in 2001, when he was an independent consultant to Marvel).  He was COO of Kay-Bee Toys prior to joining Marvel.

Marvel also appointed David Cho as its new CIO to replace that portion of Karyo's role.  Cho came to Marvel from McGraw Hill, where he was Senior VP of Applications & Operations.

Ralph Lancelotti and Joann McLaughlin have been named as co-COOs of Toy Biz.  Lancelotti was EVP of Sales and McLaughlin was SVP of Product Development.
