#1 on Bookscan

Art Spiegelman's In the Shadow of No Towers got off to a big start in bookstores, coming in at #1 on its first full week on the Bookscan graphic novel chart with sales of 6,975, over twice those of the #2 title.  Sales have been propelled by heavy press coverage, including the cover of the New York Times Book Review (see 'NY Times Book Review 'Covers' Spiegelman').

The second volume of Del Rey's Tsubasa (by Clamp), which was #1 last week, held on at #2 this week with continued strong sales.

Three of the usual suspects rounded out the top five:  Alice 19th (from Viz, by Yu Watase), Dark Horse's Trigun Maximum, and Fruits Basket from Tokyopop.
