Peter Kuper's Sticks and Stones, a wordless graphic novel published by Crown Publishers, has received the Society of Illustrators gold medal in the sequential arts category.  An exhibit of work by the winners of the Society's awards will be held at The Society of Illustrators in New York in February, 2005.

A fantasy story (definitely not medieval) with simple, direct themes for children and strong political overtones for adults, Sticks and Stones has achieved good notices in publications from Publishers Weekly to The Boston Globe since its release in October.
