Galaxy Anime has reported that the Korean animated feature Wonderful Days will receive a limited U.S. theatrical release starting on December 31st 2004. The film is a post apocalyptic science fiction nightmare set in a world where pollution provides the major energy source and people long for the simple sight of a blue, unpolluted sky. While the plot may be hackneyed, the visuals of Wonderful Days are simply stunning. The film combines 2D and 3D animation and miniatures into a seamless and often breathtaking whole. Maxmedia has announced that the theatrical release of Wonderful Days, which will be known as Sky Blue in the U.S., will feature an English dub of the film. No word yet on the American DVD release, which many animation fans will surely covet.
