Moonstone Books has announced the acquisition of a license to produce comics based on 1984 cult movie Buckaroo Banzai; the first issue is slated for release in Q3 2005. A new story for the color miniseries will be written by Earl Mac Rauch, the screenwriter of the film; W.D. Richter, the film's director, will provide guidance in the production of the comic. Art will be by Stephen Thompson. The DVD has been out for several years (see 'Buckaroo Banzai, Mad Max Return').
