According to Variety, Paramount Pictures has obtained the film rights to Robert Kirkman's Invincible, a comic book series about the coming of age of the son of the world's most powerful superhero.  Published by Image Comics, Invincible is an intriguing look at generational conflict with a superhero twist.  In addition to acquiring the property Paramount has also hired Kirkman, who is currently writing Marvel Team-Up among other projects, to write the screenplay for the movie adaptation of his comic.

Lorenzo Di Bonaventura (Constantine) will produce along with his Circle of Confusion partner David Alpert.  According to Variety, Paramount has hopes that Invincible could spawn a number of sequels and become a 'franchise.'
