Last year Archie Comics gave Sabrina the Teenage Witch a manga makeover, and the experiment was evidently successful enough that Archie plans to do the same thing with Josie & the Pussycats.  The new manga-fied version of Josie & the Pussycats will make its debut via a guest shot in the Sabrina series, but Josie and the gang will get their own continuing mangaesque comic series later in the year.  To get a quick preview of Josie & the Pussycat's new look, just visit the Archie Comics Website.

Although not all attempts to adapt the style of manga and anime to American properties have been successful (e.g. Marvel's MangaVerse), enough have to keep this bicultural trend growing, particularly in the field of animation, where series such as Megas XLR and the Teen Titans demonstrate a strong anime influence.  Even Nickelodeon, which has been the U.S. children's network most resistant to anime inroads, has announced a new cartoon series, Shuriken, which is set in a ninja school.
