The Hollywood trades are reporting that Michael Bay is in discussions with DreamWorks and Paramount to sign on to direct the live action The Transformers movie, to be executive produced by Steven Spielberg.  Bay's previous work as a director includes Armageddon, Bad Boys I and II, Pearl Harbor, and The Rock.

The anticipated release date has been moved from summer, 2006, to mid-November, 2006 (see 'Transformers Film Set for Summer 2006').
