Marvel Sends Heroes to Supermarket

Expands Food Licensing

Marvel has expanded its licensing relationships with Unilever Ice Cream and Brach's Confections, and signed a new deal with BrandSource.

 

Unilever Ice Cream, which had been producing Spider-Man Popsicle products, will now add Spider-Man, X-Men, Incredible Hulk, Captain American and the classic and movie versions of Fantastic Four to its Popsicle line. 

 

Similarly, Brach's, which had been making Spider-Man fruit snacks, will add classic and movie Fantastic Four plus other characters in the Marvel Heroes brand to its fruit snack line.

 

Marvel also signed a new agreement with BrandSource  for hot chocolate featuring Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, Incredible Hulk, X-Men, Captain America, and Daredevil.

 

Marvel President -- Consumer Media Group Tim Rothwell said the deals will help Marvel '...achieve significant retail space, receive strong sales and marketing support and maximize the supermarket distribution of our branded products.'
