Hayao Miyazaki's Howl's Moving Castle will premiere in the U.S. on June 6th at the Museum of Modern Art in New York; Miyazaki will attend.  The film will be released in three cities the following weekend, with a broader release to follow (see 'Howl's Moving Castle in 800 U.S. Theaters').

The premiere is the highlight of a special MOMA tribute to Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli co-founder Isao Takahata, which also includes screenings of 12 other films and an exhibition of Studio Ghibli posters.  The tribute, called 'Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata:  Masters of Animation,' runs from June 3-30, 2005.  Miyazaki is getting global kudos this year; he was just feted at the Venice Film Festival (see 'Miyazaki to Be Honored at Venice Film Festival').
