IDW is launching its Transformers comic book line in October with Transformers: Infiltration #0, which will carry a cover price of 99 cents and come with at least four different variant covers, all of which will be shipped in equal proportions.  The 24-page, full color comic will contain a 16-page story, Transformers: Prelude to Infiltration plus interviews with key Transformers creators.  The Transformers #0 issue, which is written by Transformers veteran Simon Furman and illustrated by EJ Su, sets the table for IDW's ongoing Transformers series, which debuts in January.

IDW acquired the Transformers comic book license (see 'IDW Snags Transformers License') at a time when the property is unusually active, with a new Transformers anime series debuting on the Cartoon Network this summer (see 'New Transformers Series on Cartoon Net'), and Dreamworks prepping a live action Transformers feature film for next summer (see 'Transformers Film Set for Summer 2006').
