Best Sellers Illustrated manga-style War of the Worlds graphic novel is in development for television by producer Richard G. Murphy, who sees the graphic novel, in which a diverse group of New Yorkers fights back against the Martians, as 'an ideal blueprint for a television mini-series event.'  The author of Best Sellers Illustrated's War of the Worlds graphic novel, Steven Stern took issue with film director Steven Spielberg's (whose film version of WOTW debuts today) assessment that 'War of the Worlds is a reflection of how scared we are in the aftermath of 9/11.'  Stern's take on H.G. Well's timeless science fiction classic is quite different as he noted: 'I like to think that we've conquered our fears of an attack on our soil, and are prepared to deal with whatever the future holds.'

Stern's WOTW graphic novel, which has just been published, was shown and mentioned on The Early Show on CBS on Tuesday morning.   The Early Show has approximately 3 million viewers.
