ADV announced a number of property acquisitions at Anime Expo last weekend.  Perhaps the most interesting is Oh Mikey, which ADV has titled The Fuccons for U.S. release.  The 'live action' series of shorts stars a group of mannequins, and tells the story of an American boy named Mikey who moves to Japan with his parents.  The whacky series has inspired tons of merchandise and even Fuccon-themed restaurants in Japan, where's it's a pop culture phenom.

ADV has also acquired the original Macross series, which it plans to re-subtitle for a new release; and Vermillion Pleasure Nights, a Japanese live-action sketch comedy series.  No release dates have been announced for these series.  ADV also announced that it will release the dub version of Sakura Diaries, with previously missing footage, in September; and the previously announced Legend of Moby Dick (see 'ADV Announces 15 New Anime Licenses'), will launch in November.

ADV's Newtype monthly will begin serializing the Neon Genesis Evangelion:  Girlfriend of Steel manga, based on the Girlfriend of Steel 2 videogame, this fall.  It will be retitled Evangelion:  Angelic Days.

And in addition to ADV's other announcements of television exposure for its series (see 'Neon Genesis Evangelion on Adult Swim,' the G4 network will begin airing Colorful soon.
