David Goyer, who wrote the three Blade movies, and is currently co-writing (with comic book scribe Geoff Johns) the screenplay for a pilot for a Blade TV series, has told Sci Fi Wire that the Spike TV Network has ordered 13 episodes of the Blade TV series (see 'Spike Orders Blade Pilot').  Goyer indicated that the hour-long Blade TV series should be ready to debut on the Spike network next June.

The Blade TV series will concentrate on the vampire-snuffing hero, who will become the first live-action Marvel comics-based character on television since the demise of Mutant X.  Goyer told the Sci-Fi Wire, 'It'll be Blade, but it's different than the movies, that's all I can say.'  One major difference will be the absence of Wesley Snipes, who played the role of Blade in all three film adaptations.
