The 26-episode anime series based on the Top Cow Witchblade series is set to debut on Japanese TV in April of 2006.  AnimeNation provided a link to the Website for the series, which features a Japanese policewoman as its protagonist rather than Sara Pezzini, the heroine of the American comic book and TV series.

If all goes according to plan (see 'Witchblade Anime Series Licensed'), Kodansha should publish a manga based on the anime, while the series airs on Japanese TV.  No U.S. company has announced the rights to the Witchblade anime series yet, but Top Cow should have the U.S. rights to the Witchblade manga.
