Avalon Hill will release Rocketville, a new board game by Richard Garfield, on March 10th, its first release in 2006.   Garfield's RoboRally was re-released in July, to great response.  This new game is set in a retro, 50s-style milieu.  It's a game for three to five players that can be played in 45 minutes.  MSRP will be $45.

Axis and Allies Miniatures:  Contested Skies, due out March 24th, will include aircraft miniatures for the first time in the game, as well as introducing several new nations into the conflict.  Contested Skies will be the first of several new releases for the Axis and Allies Miniatures in 2006; the final number has not yet been set, but a 'robust' release schedule is planned.

Avalon Hill sister company Wizards of the Coast has several non-randomized miniature releases planned after D&D Miniatures: War Drums, a booster-only set next spring (see 'WotC Outlines Q1 Releases'); The Star Wars:  AT AT Imperial Walker was 'incredibly well-received,' according to Toby Nelson of Wizards of the Coast, and the company has decided to expand the concept to D&D Miniatures.  Two large dragon releases, part of the Icons product line, are planned for summer 2006.  The Gargantuan Black Dragon is planned for June, at around 10' tall on a 4' base, with a stat card and a poster map similar to the one packaged with the AT AT Imperial Walker, for a $24.99 MSRP.  In August, WotC will ship the Colossal Red Dragon, a larger dragon (around 12' tall, on a 6' base), at $44.99.  Both of these large dragons will only be available for a limited time after release.

Between those two releases, in July, WotC will release the War of the Dragon Queen Huge Pack.  Each pack will contain eight miniatures, including one huge figure.  They'll be drawn from the basic D&D, Eberron, and Forgotten Realms settings.  WotC plans one more D&D Miniatures release, in the fall, which will probably take the game back to its standard-sized figures.
