Alias Comics has announced that the DB Pro studio has been 'released' from its publishing contracts, and all Alias orders for unpublished books have been canceled.  The canceled orders are for XIII, Imperial Dragons, Burning Man, and Seventh Shrine.   All books currently in print will continue to be offered through Diamond.

Alias publisher Brett Burner tied the departure to late books.  'Dabel Brothers had a number of books that were behind schedule which we were waiting for them to complete,' he said.  'Unfortunately those books were never finished and delivered to us.  We understand that Les Dabel has been exploring independent publishing, so rather than cause undo friction between our companies, Alias has chosen to allow Dabel Brothers to pursue those options, and we wish DB Pro well in their chosen path.'

Alias has been restructuring recently, which has included reducing its title count (see 'Alias Restructures').

The Dabel Brothers just announced a new adaptation of a science fiction novel (see 'Riftwar Comics Adaptation Launches in May').
