The WB Lands Its 'Aquaman'

A 28-Year-Old Unknown

Smallville producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar have tapped 28-year-old unknown Will Toale as their choice for the new Aquaman series, which will likely be what Variety calls 'a signature offering' for the WB network in the fall of 2006.  Gough and Millar plan to begin shooting the pilot in Florida in March with Toale, whose primary acting experience consists of a supporting role in a Broadway revival of A Streetcar Named Desire, in the lead role.

In the process of de-mythification well known to devotees of Smallville, the 'Lost King of Atlantis' will become a twentysomething dive shop owner in this new incarnation of Aquaman (see 'Like Water for Smallville').
