Variety is reporting that Dimension Films is planning to release the sequel to the surprisingly successful Sin City film in 2007.  Given the success of the first Sin City film, which was released early in 2005, look for a similar release point for the sequel, unless casting problems and schedule conflicts get in the way -- and given the way that the first Sin City film spurred sales of Frank Miller's Sin City graphic novels, this is one project to watch closely.

Variety also reported that Superhero!, a new parody film from David Zucker (Airplane!, Naked Gun) is being fast-tracked for a Christmas release.  Bob Weinstein thinks that Superhero! may turn out to be another Scary Movie-type franchise for Dimension, gushing to Variety: 'We were looking for our next franchise and I thought this was fantastic.'
