Renae Geerlings, a 9-year veteran of comic book editorial, will take over as editor-in-chief of Top Cow Productions on March 1, 2006.  Geerlings will replace Jim McLauchlin, who is returning to his prior career as a sportswriter and broadcaster.  McLauchlin will be working for FHM, Playboy, Baseball America, and Fox, though he will continue to work with Top Cow as a sales and marketing consultant for the next 12 months.  McLauchlin will also maintain his ties to the comic business by remaining as the president of the charitable organization ACTOR, A Commitment to Our Roots, a cause to which he remains deeply devoted.

During his tenure at Top Cow, McLauchlin helped develop a number of titles including Common Grounds, Freshmen, and Wanted.
