In another sign of the continuing expansion and segmentation of the U.S. graphic novel and manga markets, the Serenity OEL manga (see 'Barbour To Publish More Inspirational Manga') hit the young adult bestseller list in Christian bookstores, a list usually dominated by non-fiction titles.  Sales on the first volume, released in November, are approaching 20,000, according to Realbuzz Studios principals Buzz Dixon and Marlon Schulman.  Realbuzz Studios is the 'author' of the series in the same way that Clamp is the 'author' of its Japanese manga, according to the duo.

Future plans for the property include a slipcase edition of the first six Serenity volumes and audience-appropriate licensed goods, including plush, bags, cell phone covers, and collectible figures.
