Hidden City Games, the company behind Clout, the first collectible throwing game, has signed a licensing agreement with Marvel Entertainment Inc., allowing Hidden City to publish a collectible throwing game featuring Marvel superheroes.  Hidden City plans to launch the first Clout product produced under the Marvel license in the fall of 2006.  Wizards of the Coast founder Peter D. Adkison (see 'Peter Adkison back in the Game Business'), the CEO of Hidden City Games sees the Marvel license as a great way to attract a wider audience for Clout: 'We have been actively pursuing a licensing agreement with Marvel, knowing the incredible strength and stature they can bring to making Clout a successful game.  They are without doubt a perfect fit for us.'

Designed by Jesper Myrfors, the original art director for Magic the Gathering, Clout features plastic poker-chip like pieces adorned with full color fantasy art.  The game requires both dexterity (being able to toss your chip to the right spot) and strategy (knowing what chip to throw).  The vast number of Marvel characters (more than 5000) and the ready availability of great full color character illustrations make the Marvel license a natural for the Clout game, which is formatted like a CCG with starter sets and randomly-packed boosters.
