Variety is reporting that the Cartoon Network has secured exclusive domestic rights to the 26-episode, half-hour Fantastic Four animated series produced in France by Moonscoop (formerly Antefilms, the creators of Code Lyoko). The new animated FF series, which is targeted at 6-to-11-year-olds, will debut on the Cartoon Network this fall. Twentieth Century Fox is currently developing a sequel to the live action Fantastic Four film, which earned $155 million at the box office. The live action Fantastic Four sequel is currently scheduled to debut over the July fourth weekend in 2007, the same date currently set for the live action Transformers movie's opening (see 'Transformers Film on Track for 2007').
