Launching in September

Media Blasters has announced that it will launch DVD collections of the ever-popular classic anime series Voltron:  Defender of the Universe under its AnimeWorks brand in September.  Eight releases are planned, each a boxed set of three DVDs with 15 episodes.

Media Blasters is promising an aggressive video restoration process, remixed 5:1 audio, and premium special edition packaging.

Voltron remains extremely popular, although the product flow has slowed.  Toynami has a $150 limited edition Voltron figure (see 'Toynami's 2006 Line').  The Devil's Due comic series ended a couple of years ago.  The property was recently optioned for a movie (see 'Voltron Optioned').

In addition to Voltron:  Defender of the Universe, MediaBlasters will release Hundred Beast King GoLion and Armored Squadron Dairugger XV on DVD beginning in 2007.
