Fantasy Flight Games plans three board game products based on Blizzard Entertainment properties this year, expanding its successful World of Warcraft franchise, and adding a game based on a classic computer game.

Two World of Warcraft expansions are planned for 2006, offering retailers more opportunities to take advantage of the board game property that we rated fifth over-all in our most recent ICv2 Retailers Guide to Games (see '2005:  A Tough Year for Game Retailers').  Shattered Kingdom, which will street in July, will contain hundreds of new cards that both expand the original game and introduce a few new concepts. A full-sized expansion for World of Warcraft:  The Board Game will ship in November, with new Overlords, new characters, events, and quests, including dragon quests which characters must battle through several cards to complete.

Starcraft:  The Board Game, based on Blizzard's classic computer game, will launch in October as a big box game in the tradition of World of Warcraft, Descent, and Twilight Imperium.   It will include a large central board game plus nine separate smaller boards, dozens of plastic figures, dozens of cards, and more.  .
