According to the Hollywood Reporter Universal Pictures has acquired the rights to Tag, a horror comic announced by Boom! Studios.  Ross Ritchie and Andrew Cosby of Boom! will produce along with Marc Platt. 

Written by Keith Giffen (Blue Beetle) and illustrated by Kody Chamberlain (30 Days of Night), Tag is a high concept horror saga about an ordinary guy who is 'tagged' by a stranger and then finds that he is the recipient of an ancient pagan curse (shades of Montague R. James' Casting the Runes, which formed the basis for Curse of the Demon, one of the best horror films of the 1950s).  As his body begins to decompose the hero of Tag must either surrender to his horrible fate or find someone else to 'tag.'
