Hidden City Games will launch its new Bella Sara game (see 'Hidden City Gets Bella Sara') with a blister-packed card pack containing five cards for $1.99.  The product will be targeted at mass merchants, where girls and moms shop.

There will be 45 images in the first Bella Sara card set from Hidden City, some from the original Danish set, and others created by American creators.  Horse cards will show an image of a horse, with a brief saying under the image.

Three sets of cards have been released in Denmark to date.  Eventually, development of new sets will be synced between Hidden City, the U.S. licensee, and conceptcard, the Danish developer.

Four of the horses in the first set will be 'iconic' characters, for which foil versions will be produced.  There was no rarity scheme in the Danish release, although one will be adopted by Hidden City for the U.S. release.

The U.S. Bella Sara Website will be launched in October.  On the site, girls will be able to participate in three types of activities.  They'll be able to nurture (groom, feed, clean stable, etc.) virtual horses; play games, including one in which riders train their horses in dressage; and explore the virtual world.  Typing in a one-time use code from a Bella Sara card will give the user virtual horses, help with the dressage game, or other virtual world advantages.

Initial reaction from mass merchants has been 'good so far,' according to Peter Adkison, CEO of Hidden City.
