Devil's Due Publishing has announced the acquisition of the rights to create comic book and graphic novel adaptations of R.A. Salvatore's DemonWars novels.  Salvatore is one of the foremost contemporary fantasy writers and his seven DemonWars novels, which are set in the world of Corona, have all been bestsellers for publisher Ballantine/Del Rey.  The DemonWars novels also spawned a role-playing game from Fast Forward and a comic book series from CrossGen, which lasted for five issues before the company folded.

Devil's Due has not yet announced a release date for its first DemonWars comic, but DDP has announced that it will adapt all seven DemonWars novels.  Devil's Due premiered its first DemonWars story in the latest Forgotten Realms trade paperback with a prologue supplement, which was written by R.A. Salvatore and Geno Salvatore and illustrated by Tim Seeley.

Devil's Due, which publishes the D&D-based Dragonlance and Forgotten Realms, is quickly becoming the leader in RPG-related fantasy comic publishing.
