Marvel Entertainment is working on a live action Avengers film, although it is currently well down on the list of Marvel movie projects below Ant Man, Captain America, Nick Fury and Thor.  The two Avengers direct-to-DVD animated features have performed exceptionally well, selling a total of 1.5 million units demonstrating the popularity of the property.

Marvel also has three live action TV series in development including Alter Ego (Brian Michael Bendis has adapted his MAX comic book series Alias for Fox, which is calling it Alter Ego); Moon Knight (see 'Marvel Preps Moon Knight TV Series'); and the Skrull Kill Krew (based on the Skrull Kill Krew comic written by Grant Morrison and Mark Millar for the Marvel Edge imprint).

During Monday's conference call with stock analysts Marvel EVP David Maisel indicated that Marvel expects the Spider-Man and X-Men film franchises to continue with Sony and Fox respectively, telling the analysts,  'On the future of the X-Men and Spider-Man franchises...obviously those films have done tremendously well and made significant amounts of profit for our partners and so I would be under the assumption that they would very much want to continue these properties in an aggressive manner.'
