Andy Battaglia of Comics Etc. in Rochester, New York comments on the costs associated with WizKid's HeroClix Organized Play (see "'DC HeroClix: War of Light'").
These month's long HeroClix events make no sense from a retailer's perspective. We have to pay for bricks and OP kits. And if we're lucky enough to get enough players, we might make enough profit selling the boosters to cover the cost of the OP kits, which means we make nothing, while diverting customer funds to this futile effort. I'm probably going to end HeroClix play in my store as a result. We've already lost money after only one month of AVX. Why should we continue this? Only WizKids is making any money here. I wish my fellow retailers would all just say "no thanks."
