Everybody’s favorite serial killer (because he kills only the bad guys) Showtime’s Dexter has inspired a new wave of licensed merchandise including articulated figures from Triad Toys, a board game from GDC-GameDevCo, posters from Global Prints, and a limited edition bust from Dark Horse.  Like comic books, it appears that action figures and board games (the Dexter Board Game is age-rated “18 and up”) clearly aren’t just for kids anymore.

There was an early wave of Dexter merchandise.  Bif Bang Pow! has already created a number of Dexter figures and bobbleheads and Breygent Marketing has produced a series of Dexter Trading Cards (see “Dexter Trading Cards”).  Dexter-The Official Board Game was originally announced in 2008 from Gamaka.

The first Triad Toys Dexter figure will feature 35 points of articulation and will be released sometime in Q1 2010 followed by figures of other characters from the TV series.  The GDC board game is also due in the first half of 2010 and the Limited Edition Dexter Bust from Dark Horse is slated for the third quarter of 2010.
