In an interview with Vinay Minon of the Toronto Star, Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas reported that he had a recent meeting with DC Comics concerning DC's interest in publishing the recently canceled Veronica Mars (see 'CW Cancels Veronica Mars') as a comic book series, creating in effect a Veronica Mars Season 4 on paper.  Given the success of Dark Horse's Buffy the Vampire Slayer 'Season Eight,' DC's pursuit of Thomas makes perfect sense, though the typically taciturn publishing house would only reply 'no comment,' when asked about the prospect of a Veronica Mars comic by ICv2.

Thomas also confirmed that a resurrection of Veronica Mars on the CW network was highly unlikely, if not impossible, and that a recent campaign to flood the office of CW CEO Dawn Ostroff with Mars Bars was commendable but unlikely to matter since in Thomas' words, 'At the end of the day, Dawn Ostroff doesn't make the final call.'  Thomas fingered CBS overlord Les Moonves (the CW is CBS's little sister network) as the villain who is intent on keeping Veronica off the air.
