Corgi  International Ltd. has announced a number of new licenses including its appointment as worldwide master licensee for the Exodus CGI animated film Igor, which the Weinstein Company plans to release on October 24th, 2008.  Corgi will release a wide range of products including action figures, play sets, vinyl figures, plush, statues, and busts.  Igor is an irreverent comedy set in a world filled with mad scientists.  The film follows the picaresque adventures of the eponymous hunchbacked lab assistant who dreams of becoming a mad scientist and winning the annual Evil Science Fair.  The voice cast includes Steve Buscemi, John Cleese, John Cusack, and Christian Slater.

 

Corgi has also announced a range of Beatles and Yellow Submarine die cast collectibles and a deal with Microsoft to create 3-D merchandise in conjunction with the release of  the Halo 3 first person shooter game (McFarlane has the Halo 3 action figure license, see 'McFarlane's Halo 3 Toys').

 

Corgi also announced that Jack Lawrence will join the company as Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Group Managing Director heading the company's North American operations.  Mr. Lawrence has held a variety of CFO and COO positions, and until recently was CFO and head of Operations for the Seattle-based Cranium, a fast-growing privately-held game and toy company.
