Gen Con attendance hit a new record at this year’s show, with over 28,000 unique attendees, up 6% from last year’s record number (see “Gen Con Attendance Sets Record”). Turnstile attendance (the sum of the number of people through the door each day) was over 95,000.

This matches our observations at the show (see “Gen Con Solid”); we’re also hearing from more exhibitors that booth sales were good, trumping concerns about a bad economy and confirming the old saw that games are recession-proof.
