Privateer Press’s upcoming Monsterpocalypse kaiju collectible miniatures game, selling in limited quantities at Gen Con, was one of the show’s biggest hits (see “Gen Con Solid”), providing momentum for several Monsterpocalypse follow-up products.

The Monsterpocalypse: Rise Map Pack (MSRP $14.99), coming out at the same time as the Launch Kit in September (see “’Monsterpocalypse’ Launch Kit Details”) will contain six more city maps and include an exclusive building that will only be found in the Map Pack set.

An Accessory Pack (MSRP $14.99), scheduled for October, will include ID rings that players can put around the base of their figures to tell them from their opponents’ figures for large or multiplayer games, health trackers, and dice.

Privateer will also produce a full-color Strategy Guide for the game (MSRP $9.99), covering strategy for all the factions in the game, as well as a glossary of every figure and ability; it ships in November.

At times, the line to purchase Monsterpocalypse at the Privateer Press booth at Gen Con contained hundreds of people, blocking off exits, with waits of over an hour.  “We’ve created an entirely new customer base for Privateer Press,” said Marketing Coordinator Bobby Stickel of Privateer’s first foray into collectible miniatures. “It’s a lot of people we see at Gen Con every year, but they’ve never had a reason to come to our booth in the past.”
