R&R Games has released two games based on the recently released mad-scientist animated film Igor, by the Weinstein Company (see “Movies a Major Focus at NYCC”).

Igor: The Monster Making Game is a card and dice game by famed designer Reiner Knizia in which players compete to build their own monster why also trying to “steal” their opponent’s unfinished monsters. In Igor: The Life of the Party, rules are made and broken in a fast-paced and light-hearted social card game. Both games are currently available.

Igor features the voice talents of John Cusack, Steve Buscemi, John Cleese, Jennifer Coolidge, Arsenio Hall, Christian Slater, Jay Leno, and Molly Shannon and opened this weekend in fourth place, taking in just over $8 million at the box office (see “Igor Surprisingly Strong”).

Other licensed products based on the movie include a series of trading cards by Upper Deck (see “Igor Trading Cards”), comics from IDW (see “Joe Hill, Angel & Igor”), and a wide variety of toys, including action figures, busts, play sets, and statues, by Corgi (see “Corgi Gets Igor, Beatles and Halo 3 Licenses”).
