Factory Entertainment, a new company formed by Cards Inc. founder Darren Epstein, has acquired the Master Replicas brand, intellectual property, and some designs and tools from Corgi International.  Factory plans to announced new licenses for the Master Replicas brand and to release other licensed products under the Factory Entertainment brand.  The company is headquartered in London, with offices in California.

Corgi got into a cash crunch (see “Credit Crunch Got Corgi”) and sold off its Cards Inc. (see “Corgi Sells Cards, Inc.”) and Corgi brands (see “Hornby Acquires Corgi Die-cast Business”).  The Master Replicas assets were some of the final assets held by Hong Kong-based Corgi.

Epstein expressed optimism.  “We believe that a new team of people can reboot the brand with a fresh approach and new licenses as a part of the Factory Entertainment family,” he said.
