The Wednesday night performance of Spider-Man:  Turn Off the Dark was canceled only a couple of hours before it was scheduled to begin, according to the New York Times.  The cancellation was due to the fall of the Spider-Man double that brought Monday night’s performance to a halt (see “Fall Ends Spider-Man Performance”) and the concerns over safety it caused.  There was no scheduled performance on Tuesday and Wednesday’s matinee had been canceled almost immediately.  But Wednesday night’s performance had been scheduled to go on as planned, until last minute concerns led to the cancellation.

The stunt double who fell during Monday’s performance suffered broken ribs and internal bleeding and underwent back surgery at Bellevue Hospital on Wednesday, according to the report.  .
