The deck-building game Ascension: Chronicle of the Godslayer will soon be available at the App Store for iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch. Ascension publisher Gary Games has joined with mobile games developer Incinerator Studios to create the digital version of the game. It is expected to be available on the App Store starting in May with a $4.99 price tag.

“We’re very excited to announce the collaboration with Incinerator Studios and take Ascension to a mobile platform,” Gary Games CEO Justin Gary said.

There has been a growing trend to develop digital versions of popular board and card games for mobile platforms. Ascension will join some of the most popular game titles, such as Ra, Zooloretto, Poison, Tichu, Small World, The Settlers of Catan, and Carcassonne. Many traditional games such as Go and chess have also been converted into apps for the iOS.

Ascension is a non-collectible deckbuilding game that debuted at Gen Con last year (see “‘Ascension: Chronicle of the Godslayer’” for more details).
